Mark Vanilau has worked with New Zealand’s best - he’s a regular member of Dave Dobbyn’s band, and has played with Fly My Pretties, Trinity Roots, Hollie Smith, Eru Dangerspiel, Ladi 6 and Scribe.
His debut EP, ‘Dark Horizon’, was Produced by Warren Maxwell (Trinity Roots/Little Bushman). The lead single ‘Giant of the Sea’ took out Best Song at the Pacific Music Awards
Vanilau, a multi-instrumentalist with a smooth, velveteen voice, teamed with Maxwell and Louis Baker, for a series of live shows. Says Maxwell, “We wanted to collaborate with a focus on vocal harmony, reminiscent of Crosby, Stills & Nash but with contemporary elements and original songs from three Antipodean minstrels”.
